INTERMEDIARIES

An intermediary is an individual, or an organisation, who can support one or more microproject, and want to make available their resources to support the contribution of a remote donor.

An intermediary will create a blog where they can give some details about their location and in what resources they can share. Then they create an 'offer' of intermediation which will be visible to registered users.

For example, a charity organisation which may be shipping goods regularly worlwide, may want to offer some space in their container for a p2pAid.

Some Examples

Anyone who may be going that way
For example, someone in New York wants to make a donation to a project in Varkala, India, and the donor knows someone who is going to Varkala for a winter holiday. This 'someone' can be an intermediary, and can be entrusted with a small cash donation, if shipping goods from Usa to Varkala can be a lil expensive, it would be more efficient just to buy what is needed locally.

Local companies, small and large
Another example of intermediary can be small firm in the region of a microproject , which can get some economic or in kind support from a remote donor to fulfil a microproject's request.
Suppose a microproject needs children's clothes, it could be more economical to supply a local manufacturer with machinery and some cash to produce the goods locally, than to ship children clothes somewhere very far away. This would also help the local economy.

Global companies, small and large
Finally, we hope that the various DHL, TNT, Royal Mail, and even airlines and freight companies as well as other global corporations with worldwide networks will consider becoming an intermediary and supply free or discounted rates for goods and services delivered for relief and aid purpose.
